Vmware, Inc. ($VMW). Rumors at Vmware, Inc. are right here.

Separattion agreement

It is finally here. Despite I am very glad to have chosen to leave and decline the offer letter, reading the document they sent us is disturbing. I personally experienced racial discrimination. I also observed favoritism at VMware by many managers throughout the year. Many of us spoke up with no outcome. It is absurd that I need to sign this to get my severance. But hey, why should I care? The company will pay the price for the decisions they make. All the sexist, racist managers who continued their jobs with Broadcom are already exposed, and Broadcom supports them. Quote: following the Separation Date, Employee has not made, and agrees not to make, directly or indirectly, any statements, orally or in writing, to any person, the public, the press or the media that would portray any Releasee in an adverse light or cause injury to any Releasee. Losing Face is just Narcissistic Injury

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-legacy-distorted-love/202010/understanding-narcissistic-injury And in inverse, "Saving Face" is just adding more lies to cover up the narc injury so that it looks less pathetic than it actually is. East Asian culture in a lot of ways have been running on widespread normalization of Cluster B personality traits, and before you jump on calling me racist, I am East Asian too and was originally born and raised there.

Unmasking the Machinations of the Corporate Kabal: Layoffs and Acquisitions Revealed!

Listen closely, for I bring forth a revelation that will send shivers down your spine and set your soul ablaze with righteous fury. VMware, the seemingly innocuous tech giant, is not what it appears to be. Nay, it is the linchpin in the grand conspiracy orchestrated by the nefarious Kabal, a malevolent force that transcends mere mortal comprehension. Brace yourselves, for the truth I unveil will rock the foundations of your understanding. Layoffs and company acquisitions, the instruments of corporate subjugation, are being wielded with ruthless precision by the Kabal to silence the voices of dissent and control the flow of information. And at the epicenter of this insidious plot is VMware, a puppet in the hands of the Kabal, dancing to the sinister tune of secrecy and manipulation.

Look at the whole package!

Many job offers come with a lower title and base salary, but make up for it with a generous bonus and stock options that vest quickly. Even though the title may not be as prestigious, the total compensation can actually be higher if you're willing to take some compensation as stock grants on a quarterly basis instead of just cash salary. So don't rule out positions just because of a lower title - look at the whole package.

STOP BUGGING ME

For the individuals who keep working and breaking staging and production environments and expect me to come and fix their mistakes for them, STOP. You should be aware that VMW may not exist for much longer, and I have no interest whatsoever in working for BC. I need my severance to move on. Please STOP with your Slack messages tagging me and creating JIRA tickets and assigning them to me. You've got an offer and accepted to work for BC, which is great for you. But until BC takes the necessary actions to terminate VMW, please refrain from discussing work around me.

Declined P7

BC HR is working overtime on this forum to try to convince engineers to take pay cuts and gamble by accepting these lowballing offers. If you have been in the tech workforce long enough, you know for a fact that any employer who lowballs you with an offer is not worthy of you joining and contributing to the success of the company. I fully agree with the OP. I too declined the offer. I am P7 in Palo Alto. The base was cut by 20+%. Higher bonus "target" and RSUs for the next 4 years are similar to what I would get in many other places. However, it is clear that each engineer will be competing against 2 others for one position by September 2024. You might be cut during the April layoffs or the June layoffs. If I am to accept an offer, and I know at least two layoffs are planned, what would the culture look like? How toxic will management and colleagues become for self-preservation, especially if you are on a visa and this is your last opportunity to stay in the United States? You will commit "what?" to staying and kicking everyone out regardless. I see that this is a recipe for disaster to happen. The culture will be extremely toxic and counterproductive. It will have a major impact on your health if you are over 40, as I am. It is also clear that the bonus will be paid at 70% in the first year. Make your calculations on that; it will barely depend on your productivity. It is designed this way to intimidate engineers. If I were in my 20s, I would probably take this challenge and do everything to get through the first 2 years, hoping that RSUs will make a profit (which I doubt given the deteriorating BC business in Europe and China). With that, I declined the offer, and I warn anyone still making decisions to listen to the voice of optimism trying to convince you to look at the total compensation based on the inflated numbers they gave us.

Broadcom Acquisition: A Paradigm Shift in Management Dynamics at VMware

Managers across various business units have been struggling to assert their relevance. It has become abundantly clear that, in general, most first-line and middle managers will become irrelevant once the Broadcom acquisition is finalized. Broadcom is intensely focused on enhancing individual contributors' productivity and their direct contributions to customer value. Broadcom has no interest in workplace politics or favoritism. Several business groups have endured a prolonged period of favoritism. Many seasoned individual contributors who have spent several years at VMware are well aware of the favoritism that most times influences promotions and bonuses. Despite this, it is important to note that merit and competence ultimately prevail. However, in the meantime, many engineers have suffered, feeling alienated and targeted due to the incompetence of certain managers. Many of the managers, directors, senior directors, VPs, and even a general manager who were investigated by independent private investigators for favoritism and other allegations are no longer with VMware. However, the toxic footprint and impact on engineers and employees have long outlasted their forced departure. The damage to the culture proved irreparable. A significant number of existing managers, who were remnants of that toxic regime, have persisted and attempted to survive by hiring junior engineers and 'Yes' men. These unwitting junior engineers unknowingly aided them in their toxic 'divide and conquer' mission, all in an effort to secure their own positions."

ragu single sided support email

The message of support from VMware executives felt one-sided. It appeared as though the leadership supports one side while dismissing the other. Could this potentially impact Broadcom's decisions, leading to a focus on one side in hiring and the dismissal of the other? I know a lot of people from both sides working at VMware, mostly civil, especially in the US, and I understand that mainstream media and politicians can be toxic. However, the impact appears to extend beyond the current situation. Due to the emotionally charged atmosphere, certain individuals from one side have chosen to limit communication with the other side to prevent potential misunderstandings and disruptions.

Vmware's Organizational Challenges: Awaiting Relief Amidst Cultural Transformation

Within Vmware, a concerning pattern of retaliatory behavior exhibited by managers has emerged, signaling a broader leadership issue that permeates the company's culture. This cultural concern is exacerbated by the lack of accountability measures in place for managerial actions, fostering a toxic work environment where employees face hostility, unfair treatment, and an absence of safeguards when they voice concerns. In early June of this year, the unveiling of EPIC survey results triggered the annual cycle of retaliation, whereby employees who expressed dissatisfaction were subjected to punitive actions such as project reassignment, blame, and toxic one-on-one meetings. Managers, in a bid to deflect attention from their own shortcomings, resorted to misinformation when reporting to superiors.

DEI?

You know what every company needs for an improved bottom line? A super diverse labor pool, obviously! Because nothing boosts profits like having people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, right? 🙄 Who needs the simplicity of a homogeneous team when you can have endless debates about how to approach even the simplest tasks? Efficiency is so overrated! And who cares about streamlined communication when you can enjoy the chaos of misunderstanding and miscommunication? Plus, the best part is that diversity magically erases all office politics and biases! It's like a unicorn that solves every problem. Forget about hiring based on skills and qualifications; just aim for maximum diversity, and you'll be rolling in profits in no time! Disclaimer: This post may contain traces of sarcasm." This post will self delete in 30 minutes.
