"It's a dead product. There is no need for corporations to pay for an expensive solution like Tanzu when better opensource alternatives exist." Tanzu is not a product or a solution, it's an umbrella brand containing multiple products and solutions. Do your research budy. Plenty of our large enterprise customers have tried rolling their own OSS platforms and most of them came back when they learnt how hard and labour intensive it is. You could use the same argument to ask why anyone would use vSphere when KVM exists.
